Tanium deepens focus on Autonomous IT as it reappoints Co-Founder Orion Hindawi as CEO

Tanium has reappointed its Co-Founder and Executive Chairman Orion Hindawi as Chief Executive, replacing current CEO Dan Streetman. Streetman has been CEO for the past three years, and will continue to advise the company.

“Dan led Tanium with integrity, steadiness and genuine care for this company, its customers, and its people,” said Hindawi. “His contributions have strengthened Tanium and set the stage for the next chapter of growth. We thank him for his remarkable service.”

In the same statement, Streetman said: “It’s been a privilege to serve as CEO over the past three years and I’m proud of all we achieved, including improving operational discipline and supporting the important work of our customers, who are the most innovative and security conscious organisations in the world.”

As part of the changes, Tanium Co-Founder David Hindawi also returns to his previous role of Chairman of the Board.

What’s next for Tanium?

In Orion Hindawi’s first tenure as CEO, from 2016 to 2023, Tanium’s enterprise-scale endpoint security platform grew to be trusted by “Fortune 500 companies, global financial institutions, defense agencies, and healthcare organizations worldwide”, to quote the Tanium statement.

Now, the emphasis is on deepening Tanium’s Autonomous IT capabilities and expanding its AI offerings.

“Tanium has built something genuinely rare – a platform trusted by the world’s most demanding organisations, with the technical depth to lead the next generation of enterprise IT,” said Tanium’s returning CEO.

“AI has made what we do more critical than ever, and Tanium is the platform every organisation will rely on as threats grow more sophisticated, and the pace of change intensifies.”

He gave the example of Tanium Atlas, its autonomous operating system for IT and security, which was “developed and released in a fraction of the time that would previously have been required”.

Hindawi added: “As we push further, I look forward to working closely with the talented Tanium management team to capture the meaningful opportunities ahead by delivering more value for our customers and partners.”
