Sage acquires Bangert to bolster Sage Intacct Construction

Sage has announced the acquisition of construction technology specialist and long-time partner Bangert. The move aims to strengthen the implementation and onboarding capabilities of its Sage Intacct Construction platform.

Bangert specialises in helping construction businesses deploy financial management software and has developed AskRichard, a platform that combines AI-enabled workflows with implementation support.

For an undisclosed amount, the acquisition will bring Bangert’s technology, implementation methodology and construction sector expertise into Sage as the software vendor looks to accelerate the rollout of Sage Intacct Construction and reduce deployment risk.

According to Sage, by simplifying implementation, it makes it easier for construction businesses “to move to the cloud with greater confidence, accelerate time to value, reduce deployment risk, and stay focused on delivering successful construction projects”.

“Bangert has built a strong reputation for helping construction businesses successfully adopt Sage Intacct Construction,” said Dan Miller, Sage Financials and ERP Division Executive Vice President.

“We’ve worked together successfully for many years, and this acquisition is a natural next step. It helps customers get up and running faster and realise value sooner, while creating new opportunities for partners to support their adoption.”

Strengthening Sage in construction

The deal formalises a long-standing relationship between the two companies and gives Sage access to technology designed specifically to address the complexities of financial software deployment in the construction sector.

Construction businesses often manage multiple projects across different entities, subcontractors, suppliers and job sites, creating additional challenges when introducing new financial management systems. Sage said Bangert’s AskRichard platform addresses this complexity through guided, AI-enabled workflows and access to expert implementation support.

For Sage, the acquisition also provides a foundation for further investment in AI-enabled onboarding and customer experience capabilities.

“We’ve always believed successful implementation is about more than technology,” said Bangert President Reid Bangert.

“It’s about giving customers confidence from day one and helping them achieve value as quickly as possible. Joining Sage allows us to bring that approach to more construction businesses while continuing to simplify how customers adopt Sage Intacct Construction.”

The acquisition adds to Sage’s ongoing push to embed AI-enabled capabilities across its software and services. Earlier this year, the software vendor expanded its AI capabilities in Sage Intacct across areas including financial close analytics, workflow automation and data management.
