TechFinitive Awards 2026 – Business Applications Excellence
Business applications are increasingly expected to do more than automate existing processes. The strongest solutions can change how organisations manage money, assess risk, set prices and respond to what is happening on the ground. The five finalists in the Business Applications category at the TechFinitive Awards 2026 demonstrate that potential, combining AI-driven analysis and automation with practical tools designed to deliver measurable commercial results.
The shortlist spans retail execution, payroll and employee financial wellbeing, third-party risk management, financial oversight and subscription billing. The solutions include AI that turns retail shelf data into corrective action, platforms that cut complex risk reviews from hours to minutes, and systems that help businesses identify unusual transactions before losses mount. Elsewhere, payroll technology is improving accuracy while helping employees manage their finances, and flexible billing tools are enabling software companies to rethink how they charge customers in an AI-driven market. Across these different applications, the common thread is a focus on tangible outcomes, from lower costs and faster processes to stronger controls and new revenue opportunities. Here’s what our judges had to say about the nominees
FORM – GoSpotCheck
A proper, useful use case for AI, solving a costly problem: poor visibility of what is happening on retail shelves. It goes beyond just collecting data and recommends corrective action in real time. The commercial benefits are compelling, with customers reporting a 75% reduction in audit times, a 22% improvement in compliance and a 10% increase in sales. Its adoption by major global beverage suppliers demonstrates impressive scalability and genuine industry impact.
PayCaptain
PayCaptain combines effective payroll technology with employee financial wellbeing, demonstrating that a business application can improve both organisational performance and people’s lives. The results are impressive: Roadchef achieved 99.98% payroll accuracy, while DF Capital reduced processing time by 70%. Beyond operational efficiency, I loved the way that PayCaptain helps employees manage their finances, providing £17.5 million in emergency cash in 2025 and enabling £1.48 million in automated savings. Its combination of measurable business benefits, strong customer retention and positive social impact makes it especially deserving.
Aravo
Aravo tackles the increasingly complex challenge of managing risks across suppliers and other third parties, replacing fragmented processes with one integrated platform. The introduction of embedded AI has delivered particularly impressive results, including reducing one financial risk review from four to six hours to approximately three minutes. Other customers have reported substantial reductions in questionnaire processing times and rework. With extensive adoption among major global organisations and operations spanning 195 countries, Aravo demonstrates the scalability, practical innovation and measurable impact expected of an outstanding business application.
Oversight
Oversight makes a persuasive case for transforming financial risk management from retrospective auditing into continuous, AI-driven monitoring. Its AI-powered platform continuously analyses financial transactions, identifies anomalies and helps businesses address potential problems before they escalate. Its reported performance improvements are substantial, including a 3.5% reduction in total spend, productivity increases of up to 150% and returns of up to ten times the investment. The platform also uses sophisticated AI to detect fraudulent receipts and reduce false positives.
Chargebee
Such a smart niche and these guys were early to spot the opportunity, helping rewrite the playbook for how software is billed as AI continues to disrupt. Chargebee actively helps businesses adapt their pricing and revenue models to an increasingly AI-driven economy. Its platform enables companies to manage complex subscriptions, usage-based billing and hybrid pricing without creating unnecessary administrative or engineering burdens. The submission provides persuasive evidence of customer impact, including NextBillion.ai doubling revenue after adopting a hybrid pricing model and Salesforge building a seven-product business without a dedicated billing engineer. Supporting more than 6,500 businesses across 227 countries and territories, Chargebee combines established commercial scale with continued innovation.
