Sapiens expands leadership team with two new appointments

AI-native SaaS insurance provider Sapiens has announced two new appointments to its executive team as the company looks to grow its overall branding in the market and expand its autonomous enterprise footprint. 

The company has appointed Nazir Esmail as its first Chief Autonomous Enterprise Officer and Maggie Fox as Chief Marketing Officer.

“As we continue to advance the possible, getting the right leadership in place accelerates everything else we’re trying to do,” Sapiens CEO designate and board member Paul Wheeler said. 

“Nazir and Maggie bring exactly the experience and calibre we need as we accelerate our strategy. Strong leadership is what turns ambition into results, and I’m confident these appointments will strengthen us for the road ahead.”

Nazir Esmail’s background

Esmail joins from SoftwareOne, where he was Chief Information Officer and Digital Transformation Officer and was responsible for the company’s global technology transformation. His experience spans enterprise platforms, data, AI, cybersecurity and large-scale transformation.

According the company, Esmail’s newly created role will ensure that it works “safely and effectively with AI and autonomous technologies”

Changes in Marketing

Meanwhile, Fox will take over Eva Skidmore, who only joined the company as CMO in April. While it’s Skidmore’s next move is undisclosed, Fox’s new position will be effective from November 9, when she departs her current position as Aveva’s SVP of portfolio and digital marketing. Prior to this, she was global SVP of digital marketing at SAP, as well as a start-up founder. 

“Sapiens is at a defining moment, and marketing has a real role to play in telling that story for our customers and for the market,” Fox said. 

“I’m excited to join a company with this depth of industry expertise and to help build a brand that matches the ambition of what Sapiens is doing for insurers around the world.”
