SAP has unveiled a series of new capabilities across its Business Suite, focusing on AI, data integration and application updates.
The announcements, made at the companyโs inaugural SAP Connect event, included the next stage of Joule, with the introduction of โrole-aware assistantsโ.
SAP said each assistant is designed to partner with a human being in their specific business role.
โThis new roster of role-aware AI assistants not only partner with people to elevate performance in their lines of business but also work together across business functions to solve complex enterprise-wide problems,โ the company stated.
For instance, a people manager assistant can coordinate a team of specialised agents, including a new “people intelligent agent” designed to help spot and resolve issues such as compensation anomalies, as well as support managers to drive performance.
Meanwhile, the new financial planning assistant will be aided by a group of expert agents, including the new cash management agent that improves cash flow and interest yields to help finance professionals drive efficiencies.
SAP Business Data Cloud Connect
SAP also announced SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) Connect designed to address data fragmentation by linking SAP BDC with partner platforms via secure, bidirectional data flows.
The German company highlighted a key feature of BDC connect is a zero-copy sharing, which it says will mean data is kept in SAP systems, while making it available in customersโ existing platforms. The intention, it said, is to help reduce silos, simplify data pipelines and eliminate duplication.
Databricks and Google Cloud were announced as the first partners enabled for SAP BDC Connect. SAP stated that SAP Databricks will remain a data service inside SAP BDC, with BDC Connect extending its reach into an open data ecosystem.
SAP also introduced several new AI-enabled applications within the Business Suite. This includes Supply Chain Orchestration, a solution that uses Joule and a knowledge graph to detect risks in the supply chain.
Then there’s Engagement Cloud, a customer experience solution to help businesses personalise interactions with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
