TP-Link has announced four “major” software upgrades that will benefit customers using its business networking equipment, branded TP-Link Omada.
The central release is Omada Network 6.0, a tool for IT teams that manage complex deployments, the company says. There’s a new interface and a bunch of enhancements that should make troubleshooting faster.
Alongside a redesigned dashboard are visualisations such as as access point density maps and heatmaps. The idea being to help IT teams have an at-a-glance view of user behaviour and deployment performance.
“With advanced transparency, intelligent automation, and intuitive design our customers gain powerful tools that streamline every phase of the network lifecycle,” said Ben Allcock, Vice President B2B for TP-Link UK and Ireland.
“The result is a smarter, more cohesive user experience that enables faster, more accurate delivery of high-performance networks.โ

Users will now benefit from a scoring system that “automatically evaluates the status of devices, clients, WLANs and sites” to give a simple level status.
This should allow for early detection of issues across multiple layers, the company adds.
“Smart Topology has also been upgraded with real-time VLAN visibility and disconnected device tracking,” the press release states.
There are now customisable filters, better recognition of clients – TP Link Omada Network 6.0 now identifies the type, brand and model name automatically – while IT teams can click on a new page for the clients that shows activity and timelines.
Finally, TP-Link Omada promises faster configuration via “a simple three step VLAN setup and centralised bulk port management across switches”. The end result is less guesswork and quicker rollouts, measured in minutes rather than hours for large-scale deployments.
The Design Hub is a free network planner that will help customers – such as MSPs and system designers – design rollouts for for offices, homes, hotels and schools.
Meanwhile Omada App 5.0 comes with a fresh interface and “smoother interactions” to complement the arrival of Omada Network 6.0.
And the Omada Wi-Fi Nav App V1.5, also free, adds new troubleshooting tools such as a walking test, IP/Port Scanners and Bandwidth/PoE calculators.
