HPE launches UK instance of HPE Aruba Networking Central

“Relying on a handful of major cloud providers creates serious vulnerabilities… and puts whole economies at risk in the process,” Raphael Auphan, COO at Proton, told TechFinitive earlier today. His solution? “The only answer for the UK, Europe and elsewhere is to… develop their own native services.”

It’s almost as if HPE was listening, as it today announced a UK-specific instance of HPE Aruba Networking Central. Its press release even mentions that this new solution addresses “strong customer demand for greater sovereignty”, with not only user and application data but all the telemetry data also stored in the UK.

“The UK has a strong push for data sovereignty, with businesses wanting to keep their data in the UK and local to their businesses, to meet regulatory and privacy requirements,” said Mark Weeks, Director, HPE Networking, UK & Ireland.

“Customers have always been able to choose where to store their application and user data. The UK instance of HPE Aruba Networking Central provides them with critical flexibility and the option to host telemetry data on UK soil as well.

“Simultaneously, customers can still benefit from the global AI-native insights derived from our vast telemetry data lake, getting the best of both worlds: local control and global intelligence.”

What’s the promise of UK-only HPE Aruba Networking Central

The main premise of HPE Aruba Networking Central is that it will increase network visibility and reduce complexity. Its “single source of truth” dashboard provides the oversight, while AI is on hand to recommend optimisations based on what’s going on in your network.

Now HPE is offering a trio of hosting options to the UK market.

First is public cloud, via HPE GreenLake, with “global points of presence to ensure low-latency performance”.

Next comes Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), which can be deployed in an enterprise’s own data centre or in an HPE-owned environment.

And HPE will also offer on-premise solutions, which could come in very handy when the cloud lets you down – did someone say Azure and AWS?
