Lenovo unveils SEVEN new ThinkPad laptops at MWC 2025 and here’s what you need to know
Why release a couple of laptops at a technology show when you can make that seven? It’s a question that Lenovo answers in decisive fashion, announcing exactly that number of new and updated ThinkPads at Mobile World Congress 2025.
The biggest news is the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1, which is the first ThinkPad T series laptop to be released in 2-in-1 form. This is a convertible design, where the lid folds 360 degrees to become a (large) tablet. Business users also appreciate 2-in-1 laptops’ tent mode, which can work particularly well during presentations.
Like the rest of the laptops Lenovo unveiled at MWC 2025, the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 won’t be available immediately. Lenovo says it should go on sale in the USA from June, with prices starting at $1,719. That price doesn’t include the optional Yoga Pen stylus, which will attach via magnets.
Lenovo says it designed the T14s 2-in-1 for “hybrid professionals”, and that it’s “ideal for executives, consultants and professionals requiring adaptability”. With the latest Intel Core Ultra chips inside, and a low-power touchscreen, we’re expecting great battery life.
And good news for those who prioritise repairability: the 54Wh battery is a customer replaceable unit (CRU).
New additions to the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 family
Aside from the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1, Lenovo has also announced updates to its ThinkPad T14 and T14s range. The “s” stands for slim, where you tend to sacrifice ease of repair and expansion compared to the popular ThinkPad T14.
Both laptops are now in their sixth generation, with the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 arriving first in May 2025 with an expected starting price of $1,359. A month later, expect the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 to land with prices from $1,674. Both prices and availability apply to the US.
The main changes compared to the Gen 5 systems revolve around the processors, with both being upgraded to the latest Intel Core Ultra vPro processors and AMD Ryzen AI Pro chips. As a gross simplification, we expect the Intel chips to provide better battery life and AMD great performance.
If you want a 16in screen then you’re in luck. Lenovo also announced the Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 4, which is expected to go on sale in May from $1,623.
Meet the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 6
Mobile professionals with sensitive wallets, look away now. Lenovo has redesigned its 13in ultraportable Lenovo ThinkPad X13 – and despite weighing from 933g (2.05lbs), it packs your choice of Intel Core Ultra vPro and Ryzen AI Pro processors.
The “from” in the weight is because you can choose between 41Wh and 54.7Wh batteries, both of which are CRU units once more. It has some sustainability credibility too, stemming from a “bio-based carbon fiber chassis”, plus use of recycled magnesium and recycled aluminium.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 goes on sale in June, with prices expected to start at $1,139.
Small-business-friendly Lenovo laptops at MWC 2025
Lenovo also announced four affordable business laptops at MWC that might be of particular appeal to SMBs.
Let’s lead on price this time, with the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 expected to sell from $849 while the Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 is $10 dearer at $859. Both are due to ship at some point in Q2 2025, so at some point from July.
The remaining two SMB-friendly laptops are ThinkBooks, which unlike ThinkPads aren’t geared towards corporate buyers. Sadly for our American readers, the Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 6 won’t be available in North America, but the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 5 will go on sale in Q2 2025 with prices from $1,374.
Details are currently light on both laptops, but Lenovo says that the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 5 will “provide enterprise-grade performance, security, and AI-enhanced efficiency.”
