Intel has used the extreme tech conference Computex, which takes place in Taiwan each year, to announce that Gaudi 3 AI accelerators are now available in PCIe and rack scale systems. It also announced that Intel AI Assistant Builder is publicly available on GitHub and two GPUs aimed at workstations: the Intel Arc Pro B60 and Intel Arc Pro B50.
“For the past 40 years, the power of our partnership with the Taiwan ecosystem has fuelled innovation that has changed our world for the better,” said Lip-Bu Tan, CEO of Intel, referencing the 40th anniversary of Computex.
“This week, we are renewing our commitment to our partners as we work to build a new Intel for the future. Together, we will create great products that delight our customers and capitalise on the exciting opportunities ahead.”
The Intel Gaudi 3 PCIe cards are aimed at data centres, with support for scalable AI inferencing. “Using AI models such as Llama,” the press release stated, “customers from small businesses to large enterprises benefit from the flexibility to run models ranging from Llama 3.1 8B to full-scale Llama 4 Scout or Maverick because of the scalable configurations available.”
Intel Gaudi 3 PCIe cards will be available in the second half of 2025.
Intel’s rack scale system reference designs are “built for flexibility and scale, supporting up to 64 accelerators per rack and offering 8.2 terabytes (TB) of high-bandwidth memory,” to again quote the release.
It uses a modular design to “avoid vendor lock-in” and promises simple installation and maintenance. With liquid cooling, these systems deliver strong performance and help keep total cost of ownership (TCO) in check.
Intel’s AI Assistant Builder, announced at CES 2025, is designed to build and run AI agents locally on Intel-based AI PCs. And it’s now available as a beta on GitHub.
This means that developers to “quickly create and deploy AI agents for their own organizations and direct customers”, stated the release. Potentially big news for businesses that want to roll out AI onto their latest laptops.
Intel’s latest GPUs, the Intel Arc Pro B60 and Intel Arc Pro B50, again have their eyes on AI tasks.
Intel claims they’re designed for AI inference workloads and professional tasks, with 24GB and 16GB of memory respectively.
“The Intel Arc Pro B-Series showcases Intel’s commitment in GPU technology and ecosystem partnerships,” said Vivian Lien, VP and GM of Client Graphics at Intel.
“With Xe2 architecture’s advanced capabilities and a growing software ecosystem, the new Arc Pro GPUs deliver accessibility and scalability to small and medium-sized businesses that have been looking for targeted solutions.”
It listed ASRock, Gunnir, Lanner, Maxsun, Onix, Senao and Sparkle as partners for the B60 boards, with availability from June. The B50 will follow a month later.
