Intel has announced the launch of an embedded Intel Core processor Series 2 for mission-critical industrial edge applications and its new Edge AI suite for health and life sciences at Embedded World 2026.ย

“With the introduction of Core Series 2, our CES launch of Core Ultra Series 3, and our expanding Edge AI Suites, we continue to deliver comprehensive platforms that meet diverse edge customer needs with breakthrough performance, reliability, and integrated AI acceleration.”
The company detailed how the Core Series 2 processors with P-cores (performance cores) are designed to address increasing workloads within industrial environments that require processors to handle multiple critical workloads simultaneously while maintaining real-time deterministic performance. These include when systems run safety-critical controls and real-time data processing tasks.ย
According to Intel, the Core Series 2 processors can deliver up to 4.4 times lower maximum PCIe latency, up to 2.5 times more deterministic response time, up to 3.8 times improved deterministic performance and up to 1.5 times higher multi-thread performance compared with AMDโs Ryzen 7 9700X processor.
Intel’s Health and Life Sciences Edge AI Suite
Alongside the processor launch, Intel previewed its Health and Life Sciences Edge AI Suite, which is designed to support AI-enabled patient monitoring systems.
Intel said the suite provides validated reference pipelines for AI-powered patient monitoring solutions. It can showcase that concurrent, multimodal workloads can run locally on Intel processors, helping original equipment manufacturers, original design manufacturers, and independent software vendors evaluate platforms using realistic deployment scenarios rather than synthetic benchmarks.ย
The suite supports multimodal workloads including AI-based electrocardiogram (ECG) arrhythmia detection, remote photoplethysmography and anonymous 3D visual tracking.
โAs healthcare systems face growing patient volumes and staffing constraints, patient monitoring is evolving from isolated devices to intelligent, connected ecosystems that demand AI-enabled solutions for earlier insights and reliable real-world operation,โ Intel stated.
Edge systems powered by Intelโs recently launched Core Ultra Series 3 processors and Core Series 2 with p-cores are available now, while a preview version of the Health & Life Sciences Edge AI Suite is available on GitHub. General availability is expected in the second quarter of 2026.
