As part of Nvidia’s GTC 2026 conference, IBM and Nvidia announced they will be expanding their AI enterprise partnership across data, infrastructure and orchestration.
“In the next wave of enterprise AI, the model layer will rely on the data, infrastructure, and orchestration layers – and on businesses that can bring all three together,” said IBM Chairman CEO Arvind Krishna.
“Our partnership with Nvidia goes to the heart of that challenge. Together, we’re giving enterprises the solutions they need to stop experimenting with AI and start running on it.”
One of the core pieces of work uses GPU-native data analytics to improve how enterprises extract value from large datasets by integrating IBM’s watsonx.data’s SQL engine Presto with Nvidia’s cuDF.
To validate the production, IBM said the pair carried out a proof-of-concept by applying the GPU-accelerated watsonx.data to Nestlé’s Order-to-Cash data mart. This tracks every order, fulfillment, delivery and invoice across 186 countries and processes terabytes across 44 tables.
According to the Big Blue, the results showed the technology reduced data processing times from 15 minutes to three minutes, while delivering an 83% cost saving and a 30-times improvement in price performance.
IBM and Nvidia partnership
The partnership between the two tech giants also targets unstructured enterprise data by combining IBM’s Docling with Nvidia’s Nemotron open models. Docling standardises and converts documents into AI-ready formats with source-level traceability, while Nvidia Nemotron models accelerate ingestion of multi-modal content
On the infrastructure side, Nvidia has selected IBM’s Storage Scale System 6000 to support high-performance data workloads for its GPU-native analytics engines. The companies are also exploring solutions for organisations operating in regulated environments by integrating IBM Sovereign Core and Nvidia infrastructure and Nemotron models.
The partnership will also extend to cloud and consulting, with IBM planning to offer Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs on IBM Cloud from early Q2 2026. These capabilities will also be integrated into Red Hat AI Factory with Nvidia, and VPC servers with enterprise-level compliance and data residency controls.
“IBM pioneered enterprise computing and data processing six decades ago – and today they are redefining it for the AI era,” said Nvidia Founder and CEO Jensen Huang.
“Data is the ground truth that gives AI context and meaning. Together with IBM, we are bringing CUDA GPU acceleration directly into the data layer – turning analytics and document processing from bottlenecks into real-time intelligence engines.”
