Infor WMS leadership shows warehouse AI is moving from promise to performance

Infor has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for the eighth consecutive time, reinforcing the position of Infor WMS in a market being reshaped by AI, cloud deployment and labour-constrained fulfilment operations.

The company announced the recognition last week, noting that Gartnerโ€™s report can help supply chain technology leaders assess the state of the WMS market and vendor landscape.

Infor WMS and the AI-driven warehouse

The interesting part is not the badge alone. It is what Infor is choosing to emphasise behind it. Infor WMS is positioned as a cloud-based platform with labour, task and inventory management, 3D visualisation, advanced analytics, generative AI and agentic AI capabilities. Infor also says its Pick Path Optimization can deliver up to 25% less travel distance and 15% faster picks, a useful reminder that warehouse AI must eventually show up in measurable floor-level outcomes.

That matters because WMS investment is accelerating. 

Mordor Intelligence estimates the WMS market will reach $4.77 billion in 2026 and grow to $10.89 billion by 2031, with cloud deployment, real-time inventory needs and labour shortages driving adoption.

For distribution leaders, the message is practical. 

A modern WMS is no longer just a stock-location tool. It is becoming the execution layer for automation, slotting, labour planning, exception handling and AI-assisted decision-making.
