AMD, TCS strike AI data centre partnership deal in India

AMD and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have announced they will be expanding their partnership to deliver a new AI data centre in India.

AMD will codevelop the infrastructure TCS’s subsidiary, HyperVault AI Data Center Limited. The data centre will use AMD’s Helios platform, which is powered by its Instinct MI455X GPUs, EPYC Venice CPUs, Pensando Vulcano NICs and the open ROCm software ecosystem.

“AI adoption is accelerating from pilots to large-scale deployments, and that shift requires a new blueprint for compute infrastructure,” said AMD Chair and CEO Dr Lisa Su. “With Helios, we are delivering an open, rack-scale AI platform designed for performance, efficiency, and long-term flexibility.”

She added: “Together with TCS, we are enabling enterprises across India to deploy AI at scale today while building the compute foundation of tomorrow.”

According to the two tech giants, by using AMD’s Helios data centre as the blueprint, the new AI infrastructure will be able to support up to 200 megawatts of India’s AI initiatives and infrastructure.

“This collaboration lays the foundation for AMD’s first Helios-powered AI infrastructure in India,” said TCS MD and CEO K Krithivasan.

“By combining our strengths in AI, connectivity, sustainable power, and advanced data center engineering, we are poised to deliver state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions for AI companies and global enterprises.”

Continuation of AMD, TCS partnership

TCS has been laying the groundwork for this move since it launched HyperVault in 2025, with the goal of delivering gigawatt-scale, AI-ready infrastructure aimed at hyperscalers, AI companies and multinational enterprises.

This latest news builds on an announcement TCS and AMD made last month about working together to help enterprises scale AI adoption and modernise hybrid environments.

The pair said at the time they would jointly invest in talent to build out the AI talent pool. They also committed to deliver industry-specific AI frameworks for sectors such as life sciences, manufacturing and financial services.

“AI adoption is accelerating, and unlocking its potential requires a new scale of high-performance computing and deep collaboration across the industry,” said Dr Su last month.

“AMD is building the open, end-to-end compute foundation that enables AI across the enterprise. Through our work with TCS, we are helping customers translate AI innovation into new growth opportunities across industries.”
