Adobe is promising professionals that they can turn a day-long task of creating a presentation into less than an hour. This is thanks to a new Generate presentation feature in Acrobat, introduced yesterday.
“Let’s say you’re a small business owner who needs to land a new client,” suggests Adobe’s Michi Alexander.
“Bring your information – financial reports, product sheets, competitive intel and web pages – into PDF Spaces [then ask] AI Assistant to analyze the information and make a pitch deck that includes the client’s top pain points, and how your company can help.”
Example: What does Adobe’s Generate presentation feature do
In a deeply unoriginal move, I asked the software to “create a presentation about the new Generate feature in Adobe Acrobat”. You can see that it then offered me a bunch of templates to choose from.
Click Next and you’ll see an outline, broken down into different slides, ready for you to refine. At any point, you can edit your original prompt too.
After you’ve made your tweaks, click Generate. You’ll need to wait a minute or two (roughly 45 seconds in my case) and then your presentation will be ready:
In this example, it’s a slick 15-page presentation. A bit generic, sure, but it does its job:
Introducing Acrobat Studio, a new AI-powered workspace designed to simplify how organisations work with documents. Price and availability of Acrobat Pro + AI services
None of this comes cheap. In the UK, you will need to pay a little over £30 exc VAT per month to access Acrobat Pro and Acrobat AI Assistant (less if you commit to an annual account). American users pay $35 per month, while it costs AU$52 in Australia and €41 per month in the EU. Again, you can reduce that by around $10/€10 if you sign up for a year.
In return, you will enjoy the benefits of Acrobat Studio and PDF Spaces, which turns PDFs into a shared workspace complete with an AI assistant to extract insights. Plus access to Adobe’s AI image generation services.
As of yesterday, it also brings an “Edit PDFs with Chat” feature, where you can ask for help to improve your PDFs.
And you can now create a “podcast-style” audio overview of your PDF Spaces, which sounds a little cheesy but might just give unique insights into your assets.
