Wasabi launches cloud storage emissions tracker

Cloud storage firm Wasabi Technologies has launched a new sustainability initiative called Wasabi Impact Circle, with the help of sustainable finance marketplace Zero Circle.

Powered by Zero Circle, Wasabi Impact Circle has been designed to enable partners and MSPs measure and track customersโ€™ cloud storage-related emissions and invest in verified climate projects worldwide.

โ€œThe launch of the Wasabi Impact Circle reinforces Wasabiโ€™s commitment to providing sustainable cloud storage solutions,โ€ said Wasabi Product Marketing Vice President Drew Schlussel.

โ€œWe are continuously looking for meaningful ways to support our partners and their customersโ€™ sustainability goals, and the Impact Circle empowers organisations to turn their storage emissions into measurable, real-world climate impact.โ€

Through Wasabi Impact Circle, users can create curated portfolios of carbon credit projects aligned with their sustainability goals, climate priorities and impact preferences.

According to Wasabi, customers can prioritise portfolios featuring vetted carbon credits, projects selected for their quality, transparency and verified impact, or emerging climate solutions and carbon removal technologies.

Zero Circle then manages the sourcing, evaluation, and allocation of carbon credits within each portfolio.

Wasabi and Zero Circle partnership

The launch of Wasabi Impact Circle builds on Wasabi and Zero Circleโ€™s existing partnership.

Back in 2024, the pair developed a suite of sustainability-focused cloud storage solutions to help businesses reduce their environmental impact. This included an invoice-based carbon footprint calculator that allows users to upload their Wasabi invoice and see their emissions costs in real-time.ย

โ€œWe are excited to expand our partnership with Wasabi, a company that aligns with our values of offering sustainable cloud solutions and addressing the growing demand for credible climate action,โ€ Zero Circle CEO Hemanth Setty said.

โ€œThrough the Wasabi Impact Circle, customers can transform emissions into investments in projects that drive measurable environmental progress.โ€

The announcement also follows research conducted by Wasabi in 2025, which found sustainability was among the top three considerations organisations rank when it comes to choosing their cloud storage provider or service.

The Wasabi Impact Circle is available now through the Wasabi Account Control Manager.
