Samsung releases Galaxy Z TriFold – but is it worth considering as a business phone?
Samsung has announced the launch of its eagerly awaited triple-folding phone, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, with its first outing in Korea. We don’t yet have a confirmed price, but our best guess puts it at a shade over two grand – whether that’s measured in dollars, euros or pounds.
The Korean price will be confirmed on 12 December, the day of its official launch.
So what will this phone, which folds out to produce a gigantic 10in screen, have to offer businesses? That’s what this article explores, but fundamentally it boils down to how well it compares to the three devices it could replace. Phones, tablets and even laptops.

Out of this table, two things jump out to me. One is that the Z TriFold is significantly heavier than the S25 Ultra, another that the screen is so much larger. If the difference between a 6.9in diagonal and 10in diagonal doesn’t sound that big to you, wait until you see them in the flesh. The TriFold’s display is on a different level.
The third notable inclusion? How well Samsung has done to pack in similar specs of cameras into this phone, bearing in mind that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is its flagship device. And that the Z Fold series has always lagged behind when it comes to camera tech – until now.
The TriFold’s battery size is also bigger than the S25 Ultra’s, but with all those screens to feed it will need to be.

This is a little like comparing oranges to, well, apples, but if a business was thinking about buying a tablet for business then it would probably an iPad. And the iPad Air is a great choice, sitting between the entry-level iPad and the ultra-professional, ultra-expensive iPad Pro.
Specs don’t tell the whole story, but I would first draw your attention to their difference in weight: the TriFold is much, much lighter. Plus, if you buy a leading tablet and phone then they will basically cost as much as the Z TriFold.
Tere are the two obvious points. One, the TriFold will slip into your pocket. Two, the iPad Air has a far richer ecosystem of apps and accessories to draw upon, both of which could make you more productive.

I’m not really claiming that the TriFold could replace your laptop on a daily basis. However, the combination of a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, plus the power of Samsung’s Dex desktop-like OS, mean that it can plug short-term gaps. If you have access to a monitor, it’s almost 90% there – and it’s certainly powerful enough, as the TriFold’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform is right up there with a modern laptop.
With the TriFold, you also benefit from 5G support, so you don’t need to constantly hunt for Wi-Fi when travelling. It’s even possible to edit presentations, manage spreadsheets and chat along with colleagues in Slack via that larger screen.
What can the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold do for your business?
So, should you consider the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold for your 2026 business wishlist? I think you need to meet at least two of these criteria to even think about saying yes:
- It’s important for your business to show that it’s using the latest technology, for example a salesperson taking this out of their pocket will wow your clients
- The people who you buy it for have experience of using tablets in professional settings – and the apps they use are all supported by Android
- You have ultra-mobile employees who moan about having to bring a tablet and phone with them on their travels
- Your target users look after their technology – while Samsung has done its utmost to ensure the longevity of the hinges and the screen, that’s yet another thing that can go wrong. And this will be more fragile than a flagship phone
- You’ll take advantage of Gemini AI, which is built into the Z TriFold
Ticked three of those boxes? Then I’d say seriously consider Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold for business. Four and above – well, surely then it’s a gimme?
