8 Great features of Adobe Express
Table Of Contents−
Adobe Express is one of the most popular graphic design and photo editing tools on the market. Packed full of helpful options for creating content, it can be easy to overlook some of its features due to the depth of its capabilities. With that thought firmly in mind, we decided to create a guide to some of Adobe Express’ top features for manipulating images, video, and content.
What is Adobe Express Used For?
Before diving into Adobe Express’ top features, we should take a moment to discuss what the design platform is used for, as it is much more than a simple photo editing tool. In addition to letting users create and edit photos, Adobe Express can also be used to manipulate and create graphics, infographics, social media images, website icons, and other types of visual assets, including PDFs, videos, and social media posts.
Adobe Express also provides access to a host of templates, animation effects, and generative AI tools to create graphics from anything you might imagine. With all of that in mind, we’ll be covering these top 8 Adobe Express features:
- Templates and asset library
- Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI art
- Social media planning and scheduling
- Collaboration tools
- Integrations
- TikTok Creative Assistant
- Font and Color Recommendations
- Quick Actions
Templates and asset library
Perhaps one of the most important features of any graphic design suite is the access to professionally designed and editable templates. This is one area where Adobe Express shines, as it has a bevvy of templates for content types such as web pages, icons, logos, social media posts and graphics, infographics, videos, carousels, and print media. This includes animated templates as well.
In addition to the huge amount of free and premium templates, Adobe Express also grants users access to Adobe Stock Images – a collection of millions of photos, images, graphics, videos, and icons to use in marketing campaigns, web designs, and other graphic design endeavours. Stock video and audio elements are also available for use.
To top things off, Adobe Fonts is also integrated into Adobe Express, meaning content marketers and design teams will have the ability to incorporate any of the more than 25,000 fonts that come in the asset library.
Generative AI art and photo editing tools
Generative AI has exploded onto the scene in recent years and has rapidly become integrated in nearly every facet of our lives. In particular, IT innovation has benefited greatly, with software development and web design tools leading the charge forward. Graphic design and marketing software have also adopted the benefits of Gen AI and, as such, we now have AI-driven design and editing tools, including Adobe Express.
A few of the Generative AI design features of Adobe Express include:
- Text to Image: Use text-based descriptions to have Adobe Express create or edit an image – with or without a reference image. For instance, you could type in: “Bulldog riding a bicycle” and Adobe Express will generate an image matching that phrase.
- Text Editing and Layouts: You can add fill and other textures or layouts to text you create, to make some truly unique dynamic textual content.
- Background Removal for Images and Videos: With one click of the button, you can have Adobe Express’ AI editing tools remove backgrounds from images and videos alike.
- Generative Fill: Expounding upon the “Background Removal” feature, users can also use Generative Fill to insert, edit, or remove backgrounds, objects, or people from images.
- Text to Template: This AI feature lets you create customizable templates based off of text descriptions. For instance, you could create a unique rock band poster by prompting: “A cool looking rock band poster for a Depeche Mode style band”.
Social media planning and posting
One of the most convenient tools Adobe Express offers is the ability to not only generate images and content for social media platforms but also then provide a method to post and schedule that content as well. You can schedule posts to the likes of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and TikTok from one convenient dashboard. This saves time and effort and removes the need for multiple pieces of software to achieve the same goal.
Additional social media posting capabilities of Adobe Express include:
- Create, plan, preview, and schedule posts
- Visual overview of scheduled content
- Ability to update schedule content as needed
- Tagging: Tag members in social posts from within the scheduler
Collaboration Tools
Users who work on design or marketing teams will find Adobe Express has a host of collaboration tools that rank among its most important features. Some of the collaboration features include:
- Real-time collaboration for designing, commenting, tagging, and addressing post comments
- Versioning and version history
- File collaboration and syncing for a single asset library
- Approvals and feedbacks on content and designs
Integrations
While Adobe Express is chock full of features, it never hurts to add more capabilities to the design platform. Users seeking functionality outside of what the base model has to offer will be pleased to note that Adobe Express has a number of helpful third-party integrations, including:
- Bulk text and editing
- Wix web builder
- AI music generation
- Cartoonify and other image filters
- Google Photo integration
- DropBox and OneDrive storage

TikTok creative assistant
For TikTok content creators, there is an Adobe Express feature known as the TikTok Creative Assistant that functions off of artificial intelligence. It helps users research, plan, create, and develop content, as well as analyze advertising data and hashtag information.
Couple this with an add-on, such as TikTok Symphony Assistant, and you can easily create clips using TikTok’s Commercial Music Library and generate some compelling videos.
Font and color recommendations
A cool, unique feature that was recently added to Adobe Express is the ability to recommend fonts for your designs. In addition to having a solid filtering and search function to help you navigate the many font options, Adobe Express also “reads” your copy and uses the information it gleams to recommend fonts based on your copywriting style, the actual content, and the type of content you are writing. For instance, if you were writing some copy for a horror movie, Adobe Express might detect your intent and send you back font suggestions like Chiller or ScaryFontName.
All told Adobe Express has access to the 20,000 fonts in the Adobe Fonts library, so it is a great tool that will help you whittle down to get that perfect design.
Along the same lines, Adobe Express also integrates with Adobe Color search to suggest and recommend colours and colour palettes that align with your marketing campaigns and design.
Quick Actions
Touched upon briefly above, Adobe Express has a slew of quick actions that take complex tasks and boil them down to a few taps of the mouse or, in some instances, even a simple click. These quick actions help designers and content creators become more efficient and reduce user errors. A few of the more useful quick actions offered by Adobe Express include:
- Image Editing: Resize images, remove backgrounds, convert to and from PNG and JPG, and image cropping.
- Video Editing: Convert videos to GIF and MP4s, trim and crop videos, resize videos, change video speed, and merge videos.
- File Editing: Convert to and from PDF and JPG.
- Design and Templates: Create templates for images, graphics, print assets, and videos with a few clicks and options.
