Oracle adds AI builder to Fusion Applications

Oracle has introduced AI-native builder capabilities to allow customers and partners to create and run Fusion Agentic Applications within Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.

The update combines no-code, low-code and pro-code development tools in a single framework, which Oracle said will allow business users to create applications using natural language. 

Meanwhile, developers can use the new AI Studio Skill to build AI agents and agentic application. They can stick to traditional tools such as Visual Studio Code, command-line interfaces and Git-based workflows, or use AI coding assistants. Obvious examples here are OpenAI Codex and Claude Code.

Empowering developer flexibility

According to Oracle, the platform is designed to support the development of complete business applications rather than standalone AI agents, with examples including financial close, collections, customer service, workforce operations and supply chain management.

Oracle said applications built using the platform can run natively within Oracle Fusion Applications, allowing them to use existing Fusion business objects and workflows while inheriting the platform’s security, governance, approvals and auditability controls.

“Enterprise software is moving beyond systems that record work to systems that actively drive and execute outcomes,” said Chris Leone, Oracle Applications Development Executive Vice President.  

“With this new builder experience, customers and partners can build Fusion Agentic Applications that are backed by specialised agent teams and run natively inside Oracle Fusion Applications, where the business objects, workflows, security, approvals, and auditability already exist. 

“This is fundamentally different from building disconnected AI automations and then trying to bolt on enterprise controls later.”

The company also announced a public GitHub repository containing templates, starter projects, sample applications and reference architectures to help developers build and validate Fusion Agentic Applications.

The release also expands support for connecting Oracle, partner, third-party and custom AI agents within Oracle Fusion Applications. Oracle said the Oracle AI Agent Marketplace will also expand to include agentic applications alongside AI agents.

Available at no additional cost, Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications includes orchestration, testing, validation and security tools. Oracle said customers can use the platform to extend the more than 1,000 AI agents available through Fusion Applications, as well as the 22 Fusion Agentic Applications launched earlier this year.
