Nutanix has announced the extension of its AI infrastructure platform with its new cloud-native platform called Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI).
The company said the new offering has been designed so that it can be deployed on any Kubernetes platform, at the edge, in core data centres, and on public cloud services like AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Managed Kubernetes Service, and Google Kubernetes Engine.
It added that the NAI platform, which leverages Nvidia NIM microservices, enables organisations to securely deploy, run and scale AI models in minutes. Including generative AI applications. It uses what Nutanix describes as a “consistent hybrid multi-cloud operating model”.
“With Nutanix Enterprise AI, we’re helping our customers simply and securely run GenAI applications on-premises or in public clouds,” said Nutanix Product Management SVP Thomas Cornely. “Nutanix Enterprise AI can run on any Kubernetes platform and allows their AI applications to run in their secure location, with a predictable cost model.”
According to Nutanix, NAI can help customers address AI skill shortages by providing a user-friendly interface that IT administrators can easily manage, reducing reliance on specialised expertise. It also supports diverse use cases, such as enhancing customer experiences, accelerating code and content creation, and strengthening security through AI-driven fraud detection and threat analysis.
Other use cases of NAI include enhancing customer experience with GenAI through analysis of customer feedback and documents; accelerating code and content creation by leveraging co-pilots and intelligent document processing; and improving analytics by leveraging fine-tuned models on private data.
Additionally, Nutanix boasts that with NAI, enterprises have access to a transparent and predictable pricing model based on infrastructure resources.
“Generative AI workloads are inherently hybrid, with training, customisation, and inference occurring across public clouds, on-premises systems, and edge locations,” said Nvidia Enterprise AI Vice President Justin Boitano.
“Integrating Nvidia NIM into Nutanix Enterprise AI provides a consistent multicloud model with secure APIs, enabling customers to deploy AI across diverse environments with the high performance and security needed for business-critical applications.”
The platform is available as part of Nutanix GPT-in-a-Box 2.0, a broader suite that includes cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes tools and unified storage.
