Lenovo takes AI to the extreme with all-new ThinkStation P4 workstation
Lenovo is targeting engineers, designers and content creators with the ThinkStation P4, promising the power of AMD’s Ryzen Pro 9000 family of processors and Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition GPUs.
As that GPU indicates, the ThinkStation P4 has been designed with AI tasks in mind. And with support for up to 256GB of RAM, Lenovo promises it will perform in workloads such as 3D animation, CAD, BIM, rendering and software development.
While Lenovo promises that the P4 won’t be come with a “premium price tag” it remains cagey on exact pricing, saying this will be confirmed next month when it goes on sale. North American customers will need to wait until August 2026.
Expandable design

Lenovo also claims that this is a workstation built with expansion in mind. It supports the latest generation of PCIe Gen5 SSDs, with the promise of “hybrid storage architecture”. That’s a posh way of saying Lenovo will sale a mix of M.2 SSDs and high-capacity hard disks.
The maximum storage is 48TB – 12TB via M.2 SSDs, 36TB via 3.5in hard disks – which is impressive in a 30-litre design. It supports RAID0, RAID1 and RAID5.
There are four memory sockets, with support for up to 128GB of ECC UDIMM memory and up to 256GB of non-ECC UDIMMs.
Lenovo also claims that its “advanced thermal design” will keep performance high even under sustained, heavy workloads, with support for liquid coolers for the CPU (up to 170W).

London debut for the ThinkStation P4
The ThinkStation P4 is making its worldwide debut at NXT BLD 2026, held today and tomorrow in London. While NXT BLD has a tech focus, it’s aimed at the engineering and construction industry.
Lenovo is one of the principal sponsors, alongside – and this may not come as a shock – AMD and Nvidia.
