Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has expanded the deployment options of its flagship HPE Aruba Networking Central to include new virtual private cloud (VPC) environment and an on-premise options.
The on-premise deployment option has been designed to enable customers to operate HPE Aruba Networking Central while disconnected from the cloud. It includes FIPS 140-2 certified server hardware to meet US government security requirements and can support emerging use cases such as AI data capture, training and inferencing.
HPE said the VPC deployment leverages HPE GreenLake cloud and has been designed for customers who want the agility of cloud but need to meet specific data security, control or regulatory requirements.
“Organisations are increasingly prioritising data sovereignty, requiring regional and local presence for mission-critical IT solutions,” said HPE Aruba Networking EVP and General Manager Phil Mottram (read our exclusive interview with Phil Mottram from MWC 2025).
He added: “With these innovations, HPE now uniquely addresses the most pressing enterprise challenges for corporate, nonprofit, and government entities with unprecedented network management deployment flexibility.”
HPE says that it now provides the “widest set of network management capabilities in the industry” because of the expansion, and that it is the only vendor to offer cloud-native AI operations via VPC, on-prem, public software-as-a-service, or network-as-a-service.
“Combined with our continued innovation across AI, security and connectivity, HPE Aruba Networking Central continues to offer the most powerful and versatile network management application on the market, helping organisations meet their security, privacy, and control requirements,” said Mottram.
HPE Aruba Networking Central has also expanded its capabilities to include full-stack network observability and data lake telemetry for both heterogeneous network environments and critical IT applications.
Next on HPE’s list of improvements: observability. It has introduced a one-year subscription powered by HPE company OpsRamp, which provides monitoring capabilities of third-party devices.
Additionally, HPE Aruba Networking Central now includes an always-on, automated network assistant to expand its AIOps capability. This flags alerts when performance issues are discovered, which should boost productivity. HPE Aruba Networking Central will also provide deeper visibility into real-time apps such as Microsoft Teams for significantly improved voice and video call support.
Launched in 2014, HPE Aruba Networking Central is primarily sold as an annual subscription with a two-tier licensing model – foundation and advanced – and is available from HPE channel partners, including delivery via managed service providers.
