H releases cloud-based AI agent: Runner H

H, which describes itself as the leader in agentic AI, has released Runner H 0.1. This is a a web-based AI agent designed to automate dull tasks so that we humans can focus on the creative, imaginative side.

โ€œRunner H is more than just a productivity tool,โ€ said Charles Kantor, CEO of H. โ€œItโ€™s about empowerment – helping people focus on what matters most by automating the mundane. It frees time for creativity, innovation and meaningful human connections.โ€

H promises that the web agent will enable companies to automate entire processes, such as recruitment, quality assurance and billing.

As the product is still in private beta, developers must sign up to the waitlist if they are interested in testing the tool. For now, the beta includes an API to call AI agents running in the cloud and the “H-Studio to review and edit past and live runs”.

What can Runner H do for you?

Runner H is designed to help everyone from entrepreneurs to large enterprises, giving them a virtual team of agents to tackle mundane tasks. It highlights three potential areas: Robotic Process Automation, Quality Assurance and Business Process Outsourcing.

Process Automation

For process automation, H cites the example of automating hiring processes. “Runner H enables companies to automate their entire recruitment process with a single prompt,” it boasts.

This includes posting job descriptions “to aggregating resumes and sending tailored follow-ups”. It can also add data from LinkedIn so that you can better understand the applicant’s background and skills.

Once hired, H reckons that it can even handle onboarding.

“With Runner H, businesses can cut weeks of work into moments, saving time and resources while finding the perfect candidate faster than ever.”

Quality Assurance

To illustrate how Runner H could help with quality assurance (QA), the company turned to funnel testing for e-commerce sites.

“Runner H seamlessly adapts to user interface changes, automates repetitive testing processes and navigates complex workflows with ease,” H promises. It adds that it can be used for “simulating real user actions, or ensuring compatibility across payment methods”.

Business Process Outsourcing

Business Process Outsourcing, or BPO, traditionally means farming out services to external companies. Thinks like accounting, IT and HR. Instead, why not ask Runner H to take control of your billing processes?

In one graphic example, H talks about using Runner H to control dental insurance claims. So it could automate tasks “such as fetching insurance plans, compiling notes, analysing and submitting claims, and tracking reimbursements – all with precision.”

How fast is Runner H?

As its name indicates, this is a beta release, but H claims that it “outperforms Anthropicโ€™s Computer Use by 29%”. That’s only in the benchmark WebVoyager, however.

“Underlying this technology, Hโ€™s compact models (LLM โ€“ Runnerโ€™s brain, and VLM โ€“ Runnerโ€™s eye, both 2B parameters) are also surpassing larger alternatives from competitors like Mistral and Meta,” the company stated.

“This success demonstrates the potential of smaller, more focused models to outperform generalist models at a fraction of the cost.”

โ€œRunner H is just the beginning,โ€ said CEO Kantor. โ€œWe are excited to start with the web and expand to other environments. The future of automation is limitless, and we are proud to lead the charge.โ€
