Eizo launches world’s first 7-year monitor warranty along with two ultrawide, curved FlexScan displays

Remember when products used to last for years? Often they still do if you buy top-quality brands, and I would place Japanese monitor maker Eizo into this category. And it’s so confident in the longevity of its designs that it’s introducing a 7-year warranty to accompany its two new displays.

The 7-year warranty also applies to four existing models, bringing the total covered to six:

• Eizo FlexScan EV3851X NEW
• Eizo FlexScan EV3451X NEW
• Eizo FlexScan EV2740S
• Eizo FlexScan EV2720S
• Eizo FlexScan EV2410R
• Eizo FlexScan EV2400R

As you can deduce, these are all members of Eizo’s FlexScan EV series. These are targeted at professional environments, as opposed to the company’s ColorScan monitors that are for creative use.

“As global IT investment cycles lengthen and organisations place greater emphasis on sustainability,” the company stated, “demand continues to grow for equipment that can remain in use for many years.

“Frequent device replacement disrupts workflows, increases lifecycle costs, and heightens environmental impact through additional resource consumption and waste. The new 7-year warranty supports longer product lifespans, helping reduce TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) while contributing to more sustainable use over the product’s life.”

Eizo FlexScan EV3481X and EV3451X monitors

The new FlexScan EV3851X and EV3451X are both ultrawide, curved monitors, measuring 37.4in and 34.in respectively. They also share the same USB-C connectivity, with 94W of power delivery to connected laptops or mini PCs.

Both screens also meet the tough sustainability standards of TCO Certified Gen 10 and the EPEAT Climate+ designation. The FlexScan EV3851X will go on sale in July with the EV3451X due for release this autumn.
