A single HPE Gen12 server can now match the compute capacity of up to seven HPE Gen10 servers, drastically reducing the physical footprint and associated power and cooling requirements in data centers. This translates into fewer servers needed to support the same workload, further amplifying energy savings.

In testing, HPE found that the total compute performance measured for HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 was equivalent to  6x that of HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus servers to more than 26x that of HPE ProLiant Gen8 servers.

Advanced Cooling Solutions

HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 also introduces advanced cooling solutions that play a key role in enhancing energy efficiency and performance while supporting business sustainability goals. 

One of the standout innovations is Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC), which is up to 3,000 times more effective at transferring heat than traditional air cooling, which is no longer enough as power densities rise. This technology allows heat to be removed directly from high-temperature components like CPUs and GPUs, significantly reducing the reliance on power-hungry fans and air conditioning systems.

Liquid cooling can drastically lower the energy required for data centre thermal management, helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint and overall operating expenses.
