How green startup Humight intends to light up the world – starting with the Paris Olympics
Like many countries around the world grappling with climate change, France is going through a green transition of its own.
Empowered by France 2030, an investment plan that has allocated around 8 billion euros to green initiatives, the country is literally cleaning up its act. Even the famous River Seine, unswimmable for a century due to poor water quality, is being revitalised, with more than 1.4 billion euros spent making it clean enough to host events for the Paris Olympics.
Bolstered by government spending, investors and startups alike have rushed to develop the products, services and technologies that can help decarbonise the country. One of those companies is Green Tech Innovations, often operating under the trademark Humight.
The Metz startup specialises in environmental smart city solutions based around solar power. It’s already vying for collaborations with some of the biggest projects happening around the world… including, you guessed it, the Paris Olympics.
We met with David Chquiry, its CEO, earlier on this year. Our conversation is below, edited for clarity.
Could you please introduce yourself and the company?
My name is David Chquiry and I’m the CEO of Green Tech Innovations, a French startup.
What is Green Tech Innovations? And what’s the difference to Humight?
Green Tech Innovations is our innovative startup and Humight is our registered trademark focusing on our social values. Humight is a contraction of Human Light, Human Right.
What are your main products or solutions?
Our main products are the Solar E-Light which is a streetlighting solution, the Green Tech Solar Panel which is a smart solar panel with high-level efficiency and the E-NRJ Tech which is a Smart Digital Platform connected with Smart Cities IoT.
What kind of benefits or improvements have your partners seen from working with you?
The benefits for our partners are many. They can use our products to reduce CO2 emissions and promote a green impact and social values, which, in turn, makes them more attractive for recruitment. They should also know that we are a reliable partner, focused on long-term relationships.
Who are your typical clients?
Our clients are municipalities, contractors, real estate companies and factories.
Any interesting case studies or examples of success you’d like to share?
We are working in Cannes and Nice to manage traffic based on our AI module implemented in security cameras installed on our Solar E-Light. Similarly, we have a partnership with Huawei to build a smart city solution for the Hong Kong airport. We are discussing with ADP [Aéroport de Paris] to propose smart lighting solutions to save an amazing quantity of CO2 emissions and at the same time make the airport more secure with our smart digital platform, E-NRJ Tech (in conjunction with the Paris Métro and SNCF, the national French train national company).
What is your outlook for 2024? How is business shaping up for Green Tech Innovations?
Our outlook for 2024 is to deploy several pilot projects around the world and to definitively fix the roadmap for our sales deployment strategy. Business is growing up fast for Green Tech Innovations with a lot of potential to work on some of the biggest projects around the world like NEOM, the Olympic Games in Paris and Los Angeles, and the King Salman International Airport of Riyadh, to name a few.
