Lenovo has announced that it will unveil several new AI PCs and edge computing solutions at Mobile World Congress 2024, which takes place in Barcelona from 26 to 29 February.
According to the company, it hopes to bring โAI for allโ by making the technology more readily available to the mainstream in the next few years.
โPurpose-built to support AI, Lenovoโs AI PCs are designed and engineered to perform tasks such as reasoning, problem-solving, and learning,โ said Lenovo.
โMore importantly, they create a user-machine bond, bringing tailored experiences amplified by AI. With stronger computing power and larger storage, large language models (LLMs) can easily run on the device rather than in the cloud.
โOver time, these models adapt to the user’s preferences and habits, enhancing their assistance as time goes on, resulting in a more personalised experience while safeguarding privacy.โ
The upcoming announcements will follow the Chinese-based companyโs flood of AI PCs it announced at CES 2024.
Lenovo will also showcase several telecom infrastructure solutions that will be equipped with AI capabilities. The company said the solutions will help businesses leverage large amounts of data for AI applications at scale, while reducing energy consumption of cloud services.
โAs the telecom industry evolves to connect todayโs digital economy, Lenovoโs Edge AI computing solutions are forging new AI capabilities across city streets throughout Barcelona and Madrid, like using video analytics and computer vision to identify smoke and fire, improve emergency response times and support public safety,โ Lenovo said.
In addition, Lenovo will showcase two proof-of-concept products at MWC, which it claims will โchallenge the traditional PC and smartphone form factorsโ.
The first will be Motorolaโs adaptive display concept, which uses a FHD+ pOLED display that can be bent and shaped into different forms depending on usersโ needs. The other will be a laptop developed by the Intelligent Devices Group and Lenovo Research teams that the company declares will โpush the boundaries of engineering, design, and user experienceโ.
